Busy, busy, busy

I've been very busy in the studio this week, working on a few different projects. The charro bridle has been put on the back burner at the moment, until I can figure out how to make some mohair tassels that don't come part when they get handled.

One of the projects I've been working on is this Indian bosal/rope halter bridle. This is my reference:

My bridle will be the exact same except it will be turquoise with a white noseband. I set myself a deadline to have this bridle finished by June 1st, so we'll see if I make the deadline.

This bridle will hopefully be for sale. I'm hoping to make a couple more in different colors and sell them also.

Another project is the Blab Spring Swap. I'm not anywhere near finished, but I'm hoping to have the whole thing done in a few days. I thought I was getting fairly close, then I went to Hobby Lobby. My model will have a base with grass and flowers, which I'm hoping to get made today.

My partner will get glitter bombed in true Blab fashion! I don't think the model itself will be drenched in glitter, but it's too early to tell. At the moment I'm thinking of light spring pastel colors(not saying what color because it'd give me away), with a pinto pattern to top it off.

My last project is this:

She's going to become a halter horse, standing square with her head down slightly. I don't normally care for halter horses, but I'm going to try to keep this horse very relaxed and natural looking, instead of bulked up like the halter horses in the show ring today.

I also received my swap pony from Kelsey, AKA Choice! It's the G2 Thoroughbred that has been customized into a horse giving a playful buck. This little mare is adorable! Thanks Kelsey!

Now time to get back to work on my halter and swap, I only have a few days!

I've been in the model horse hobby actively for about four years. My main interests are customizing, tackmaking, and showing, although I do like to venture into the different aspects of the hobby also. Aside from model horses I ride real horses, and also dabble in leather crafting. Hope you enjoy my blog!
